With VSPD Mobile you can easily test your software during debugging period to configure how your application will act with actual serial port connection. You'll need to create virtual serial ports pair COM7 and COM8 and connect the application you are developing to one port, and emulation software to the other. Everything that the first application sends to COM7 will be received by the second application at COM8, and all data sent to COM8 by the second application will be received by the first one at COM7. Same solution can be implemented for data-logging period of your software testing.

Using VSPD Mobile you can create up to 20 virtual serial ports at the same time, join VSP and COM serial ports in pairs. Virtual serial port pairs are created during runtime and no reboot is required. Note, that adding a new virtual serial port pair results in decreasing the number of available pairs to create. The same way it is possible to delete a virtual serial port pair if you no longer need it. All these processes are performed during runtime.

• Disable existing serial ports

By default, only a limited number of serial ports are offered by Windows Mobile: COM0-COM9. And in some cases it could appear that this is not enough to suit your needs, as some of them may be already used by other devices. In case you need more virtual serial ports to work with, you may disable existing serial ports and create virtual serial ports instead to be able to use them for your own needs. You can easily disable existing ports and then create more virtual ports pairs with VSPD Mobile. Please, note that disabled ports preserve the state even after system reboot.
